Foolish me: right after the iPhone 3g had been out for a total week, I thought I could stroll proper into the Apple Shop on Fifth Avenue & 59th Road in mid-town Manhattan, and just purchase a single with out any muss, fuss, bother, or delay.
But when I arrived at 11 AM, I identified a line of around a hundred and fifty people waiting exterior in the broiling sunshine, not seeming to transfer forward at all it turned out that the Apple retailer "concierge" individuals have been allowing them in in teams of 10, when the previous ten had been taken care of. When I asked the woman how lengthy she had been waiting, she said, "Four hours" — she had arrived at seven AM, having by now established that the AT&T shops had been offered out all through New Jersey and Connecticut.
Nicely, I’m a gadget freak and a Mac supporter, but there is certainly a restrict to my enthusiasm for such points four several hours was just way too considerably. Obtained a new app for my iPhone, Colorize. Not greater than naturel but much more fun!
Nevertheless no new iPhone for me. But I have acquired some wonderful distractions. Breakfast, Maui.
